a very good boater fisherman i knew for 30 years passed away recently. i was gifted these pfd's. ive only been in a sit in yak once and my new sot one time. im not a great swimmer but i felt safe being out there alone in the river with one of these on. but… it seems like they are too big bulky and hot for the summer. believe it or not, it gets really hot and humid in buffalo ny at times in the summer. i would rather have my son and i and his friend wear these while we are out practicing and learning. but….when its august and 90 degrees and humid, are we gonna roast to death compared to being in a pfd with all the pockets?

  1. To answer your last question the answer is yes.
Get a kayaking pfd. It will be lower cut to allow you to paddle. It will also be cooler! Most local sports stores such as Dick’s sell them.
Safe boating and always wear your pfd!
