I posted a time lapse of my tank yesterday and got a ton of comments about my bettas hammock, so I figured I’d make a post here and share this info with everyone!
He’s obsessed with this thing! He liked it bare but now that I’ve added plants he can’t get enough of it!
I bought this hammock from Amazon for $9: https://a.co/d/3tT0aUr
Pic 1: The glorious penthouse
Pic 2: I grabbed an old piece of airline tubing, wrapped it into a circle and super glued it together to make an air pocket so I could fill the rest of it with floaters.
Pic 3: Tied Java moss to the bottom with some tough thread I had on hand at the time. You can use any usual method for attaching Java moss. String, glue, fishing line etc. You can also probably use any moss you have on hand!
If you don’t secure the Java moss it will float up and create a tangle risk for large finned betas, definitely secure it down for a “bed” vibe!
Pics 4&5: The boy himself enjoying his hammock 😁
Hope this helps anyone who was curious! I’d love to see if any of you take inspiration from this, even with other styles of betta hammocks! 🫶 or even just other betta lounging spots you’ve made! Let’s spoil these little buggers and share our ideas so others can too
