I took my school fish home for the summer (1 and a 1/2 months) and added them to my 10 gallon. Now there are 12 MALE guppies in here. Will they be okay for the summer?

The tank has:
A filter with a seachem purigen bag (planning on taking this out in a day or two)
Stocked with plants, aquarium soil, and lava rock
Hiding spots and foliage to make more hiding spots
Air stone

Ps: they are all brothers! They’ve been together all their lives 😃

They will be fine for a few months — dozens live like this for years in fish stores (not a suggestion). Plan on 50% water changes weekly, and don’t overfeed.
Your plants won’t help a ton, which is totally fine. It’s a lean aquarium, maintenance is all you need.

I probably wouldn’t add anything else.

  2. Theyll be fine, live bearers can tolerate pretty cramped living spaces well. You might need to do more regular water changes on it though.

Probably be fine, would recommend a filter rated for a 20 gallon to help with with water quality. Check my prof to see how well you can stock with strong filters and compatable species

That’s fine… A lot of people in this hobby are just super conservative when it comes to stocking levels.

I’d throw some more plants in there, maybe some floaters since they’re easy. and be consistent with water changes weekly and you should be good
