Hey all,
I recently graduated and was gifted a Daiwa Exist 4000D by a good fishing buddy. I fish primarily freshwater with bass as my usual target, but I also plan to use this setup for heavier species like pike, musky, salmon, and steelhead.
I’m looking for a versatile rod that pairs well with the 4000D, especially for throwing lures 3/8 oz and up. Ideally something around 7' to 9'. I’ll mostly be fishing from shore but sometimes from a boat.
Budget is flexible, up to around $300, but I'm open to rods a bit above that if they're truly worth it.
Any suggestions from those who’ve paired a similar reel for multi species freshwater use? Appreciate any advice or recommendations. Thanks in advance!
