got my first two trout ever today and i was so happy. first one flew off the hook when i got it up and back into the water so i didn’t get a pic- guess i see why everyone has a net lol. this was on reel rod pole as i haven’t learned to fly fish yet- super stoked though

Just a heads up since your new and may not know, trout skin is extremely sensitive and you can kill them pretty easily by handling them wrong, you need to wet your hands before touching them and use a rubber net make sure it’s rubber, sticking a trout on the floor and having it rub it’s slime off can kill them, they slime on the skin is what keeps them from getting sick and maintain a healthy life. Great catch those are Brooke trout and there beautiful and normally at least for me harder to catch, they also don’t get that big so that’s a relatively big trout. Nice job
