Mepps gold spoon spinners are fantastic. Bass, crappie, trout… basically everything with go after them.

Great lures but I would leave it packaged because it’s cool AF. Easy enough to buy a new one to fish with

I got a fat smallmouth on that one….

They aren’t valuable beyond the current price, no matter how old they are. I have TONS of Mepps spinners from my grandfather buying a pallet of old cases of them at an auction in the late 80s/early 90s.
Most get used to teach kids to fish with a lure now. They are worth way more tied onto a line and used to catch fish than anything else.

At this point that’s probably collectable

Use it. It might be worth a few dollars in the og package…but are you really going to look to sell it for $6 or something?

I’d just buy a new one from literally any tackle store and keep that one in the package.
They are a great multi species lure

I literally just bought an old mepps at a garage sale in the package and immediately ripped it open and threw it in the tackle box (keep it in my car). Next time out I caught a shitload of redbreast and a decent bass on it. Fish it!
