My female betta seems to have been having a hard time swimming in the past few weeks, like jerking to swim and she mostly stays in the top corners of the tank. She's consistently been swimming like this.

Her fins have grown A LOT since I first got her and it literally seems like she’s being weighed down. My brother thinks her body shape looks weird but I’m unsure.

Any advice would help thank you!

  1. That’s a male betta, females don’t have flowy fins like that. As for activity, what’s the flow in the tank like?

This is a male betta, most likely mislabeled when his fins were not fully grown out.

It’s hard to tell from this video/angle, but long finned bettas will usually get tired and weighed down by their fins. Lots of resting spots and low flowing water is this bettas best friend.
