I’ve never used fluoro before and there’s was to much info and debate on which brand and types within that brand to get online and on the tube. I find it best to ask you all the everyday anglers what you all use, what do you consider the best bang for your buck. Thanks for the help in advance.

Seaguar is always a safe bet, after all, they did invent flourocarbon. The red label is solid and I’ve used that a lot around Basalt in the sea without fail, I’ve used the Invisx on my Perch stuff and that’s also been great.

Personally the Invisx gets my vote as I’ve been very happy with the strength on Pike teeth while fishing for Perch.

I use seaguar blue label but only because invizx isn’t available near me

I’ve never had issues with red label. Used 15lb on a baitcaster and 10 or 6 as leaders on various rods. I seem to get lucky and pick it up on sale. I don’t have any p line experience.

Of those 3, I would go with invisx. Red label is the low end, it will work, but you won’t be as happy with it. I wanted to love pline but I had issues with breaking off at the knot even with the double san Diego jam.

P.s. make sure you are tying a knot that is proven for florocarbon line. The Palomar is a bad idea.

Seaguar red is terrible especially on spinning reels. You may as well use basix. Pline isn’t any better

Invisx is a solid line. My preferred is softsteel instinct or tatakai

Seguar has been in the fluorocarbon biz for a hot minute, it is the no brainer choice imo. I’m actually not sure what the yellow package is, but the red label is good. I have had great luck with P line mono, but I don’t have any experience with their other lines.

  7. I haven’t used any of those but for braid I love p line and is my favorite. IDK? For regular line

Lines are a matter of preference usually but the invizx is one that I often use along with sunline FC sniper. I’ve tried P line and don’t care for it, but many people swear by it. Seems like most I know try a few before sticking with one, but some other redditors may have more specifics if that’s what your looking for.

Been using sunline and haven’t had any problems but not sure how it holds up (no toothy critters yet) knots are fine though

  10. Invizx for sure! Seaguar is the gold standard, but are you needing fluorocarbon for mainline or just leader? If leader, that changes things. Someone here reccomended Seaguar Blue Label, but that’s only leader material, and you’d likely be WAY underspooled if using it for main! 😅

If you want really solid fluoro mainline, I’d check out Seaguar Tatsu! For leader, I use Seguar Gold Label and it knots up and fishes like BUTTER. It’s far more supple than cheaper fluoro leader material, which can be stiff and hard to tie solid knots with. Another honorable mention would be Daiwa J-Fluoro for leader. You can get 100yd spools of it for around $20, give or take. Check Amazon. It’s a little thicker than Seaguar Gold and stiffer, perhaps a little more visible due to its diameter for rating, but it’s also known to hold up a little closer to actual breaking strength than Seaguar Gold, so if you need durable leader, it’s the best bang for the buck.

    Best of luck!

  11. Is this for a baitcaster or spinning reel? If it’s a baitcaster you’re probably better off with braid or mono due to better line management. If it’s a spinning reel, braid to fluoro leader

  12. I tried invisx its way too stretchy if you’re application requires a lest soft line. It also feels crinkly aswell I had invisx and took it off my conquest immediately. I instead put sunline flouro and I have had no issues at all.

I use the P-line 6lb on a Abu baitcaster with very little issues. First bass I landed on it must have been over 7lbs fighting hard. Line performs well and memory properties are decently low.

  14. I would use invizx for a spinning setup. But for a bait caster I would bump up the 12lb test to something heavier to make it more manageable. It’s not ideal to most but I found it to be easier with less knots. Or braid with fluro leader. Happy fishing

I’ve been using the yellow box – Seagaur Invizx -for years. It makes for a tough, flexible, and invisible, leader essential for fishing finicky fish like Walleye. I usually use 15# braid (PowerPro) and tie on a 12# leader using the FG knot. Tying an FG can be difficult at first, but what finally made it easy for me is a YouTube video by Salt Strong titled, “FG Knot 101 (Best Method for Beginners)” published about 3 years ago. The FG is a slim, strong knot that won’t hang up as you cast your line.

  16. I use Seaguar Basix, cheap and I haven’t had any problems with it but I’m using braid on all my stuff and tying a FG Knot leader so a spool of the Seaguar basix has lasted me a while.

Use the Seaguar R18 from japan if using as leader. InvisX was king but people have been getting bad spools over the past year. I have no experience with the red label.

  18. Do you intend to go straight fluoro on the whole reel spool or is this just for leaders? I only use fluoro as leader material in open water because I prefer braid for casting distance and sensitivity due to complete lack of stretching. But either way, Seaguar is always my goto brand. The yellow line is better for finesse and small fish, the red line is better for fishing around structure or for bigger or toothier fish.
