I picked up this 13.5’ Nucanoe Pursuit off Facebook marketplace a couple months ago for $700. Then a couple weeks ago scooped a solid 40lb thrust trolling motor, so I immediately ordered a battery which came in yesterday. Today I took it out for the first time and having a motor is a massive game changer. Not being dead tired when you have to load up the kayak at the end of the day is so nice… I did forget the handle extender, making it a bit of a pain to start and stop the motor but it was still exponentially better than without a motor. Can’t wait to get back out on the water!

If you want to not use the extender and depending on your want, then there are some good YouTube videos on how to make a controller by your seat for the motor. I just did it and it isn’t too hard to wire and set up.
Another suggestion, and you might have done this, check your state regs if you need to register the kayak with the state since you motorized it. I am in SC, and I have to register the kayak and get numbers, but not the motor.
I agree with your assessment about the end of the day paddle back to car plus loading.
