Been fishing local rivers and all I can seem to catch are little rainbows, I had around an 8-10 incher on yesterday in a deeper hole but couldn’t land him as I forgot my net and hiked pretty far. I saw 2 late steelhead that must not be able to make it back to the lake as well. I can only seem to catch small mouth a little further down as it’s too calm I’m thinking. Wondering if there would be bigger rainbows even further up?

where there is baby trout there is adult trout, the young ones will hit everything and easy to catch.. your going to have to change your tactics.. if your catching smallmouth the water is likely too warm to support numbers of trout ..
