Just bought the Magellan Angler 10’6 pedal drive kayak. Following the directions and had a brain fart and didn’t offset the pedals 180 degrees when installing them into the drive unit. I cannot get them off for the life of me. Completely stuck on with the screw removed.

Does anyone have any tips or tricks to remove them? I only need to get one off to get it offset correctly.

Gently, and I mean gently tap the arm with a hammer, about midway down it. Tap towards the drive, it will leverage it out a little.

Best with a rubber dead blow mallet, and just left it tap it. Don’t put force into it.

This is way more common than most people would believe lol.

Bicycle crank arm puller? I know nothing about pedal drive kayaks but looks like a square taper crank arm on a bike.

  3. I just bought the same kayak yesterday. Mine was installed the same way as yours from the store. I took it to a bike shop and after the guys all took turns looking at it they got the crank arm off and in the correct position within five minutes. They didn’t even charge me. Take it to your local bike shop and they will get you fixed up! Have fun!
