Going to the Hawaiian Big Island in July and will be staying in Puako. I typically fish lighter gear in Southern California. I would love to get out and do some surf fishing during the trip but have not found a ton of resources for out there. Normally, I would just hit up a local tackle shop but I want to bring most of what I would need. Would love to hear if anyone has some suggestions for spots or tips for surf fishing there. Thanks.
