I was thinking it may be good for casting at natives

  1. In theory no, but that’s the only way I have seen them used. A lot of times with a split shot a few feet in front of it for walleye.

Nothing to stop you from using them as regular deep divers. I certainly found a few in places where there’s no trolling possible.

These are great casting lures. Reel as slow as you can especially around rocks. I’ve casted these in 5’ of shoreline with good success for walleye.

  4. Gonna piggy back on this question, because I also have no experience with these. What’s the minimum speed for trolling these? Could I troll one behind a kayak if I’m moving at a decent clip?

Rocks and smallies right now in the heat… yes please. That or square bill. Scatter rap was my favorite but long gone

  6. Have pulled a ton of walleye on them casting. I find they don’t quite dive as deep as advertised, so either put some split shot on, or go with slightly higher trebles (do your homework for the latter). The 7s are pretty light, but 9s are harder to come by in some patterns.

Edit: adding that you should bring pliers on your first outing. I’ve had a few that have needed a tune to swim right.
