I just bought a vintage Diawa 4000c reel, it is in great shape overall, but it seems to be missing this red piece. I am assuming it is something for flipping the bail, but not sure. Anyone know where I may be able to source a replacement?

External bail trip. If you are accustomed to manually flipping the bail, shouldn’t have anything to worry about.
The reason why it may be missing is because those bail flip triggers break often. So even if you were to replace it, chances are it might break again.
There is a reason why 98% of spinning reals don’t have these. You don’t need it, they aren’t reliable, and they don’t provide any advantage.
