Hi, everyone.

I bought a Ride 115 when they first came out…. At that time, a 'low seat' was the only seating option on the boat. A few years later, Wilderness Systems released a high seat option but it was stupid expensive (IMHO) as an aftermarket part.

Now, I'm older and have had some back issues… I'm wishing that I had bought the higher seat back when it was available. Given the time that's passed, I don't seem to be able to find any remaining stock anywhere or used ones on ebay, etc.

The gear junkie in me would like to use this as an excuse to paddle some new boats and upgrade, but I figure I need to at least check whether anyone has had experience with a hack/retrofit on their own (which would cost much less) before I pull the trigger on that. Has anyone here hacked together a raised seat for a previously low-seated kayak model and would like to share what you did so I can see what might work?

Thanks, Dluxe
