So the backstory here is I absolutely love bass fishing, and have been fishing for over 15 years. Unfortunately though I can’t afford a boat, or even a decent fishing kayak. I work my ass off but having kids at a young age in this economy it just seems like I never have enough. But I decided I was finally going to buy a kayak as I’ve fished just about every pond I can get access to in a 30 mile radius. I had a budget of exactly $340. I bought the kayak at academy on sale for $200, then bought bungee straps, rod holder, paddle, anchor, and a dry box. Dug around in my garage and found some screws, JB Weld, silicone, paracord, old bucket, some redneck ingenuity, sweat and this is what I came up with. Fished it this evening on a small creek not too far from my house and I couldn’t be happier. I will link a video in the comments if anyone is interested

Very similar to my setup, and for similar reasons. Nice! You got out on the water so that’s the second most important thing.
I didn’t see a PFD in your list of bought items. Please make sure you’re safe out there… that’s the first most important thing!

Awesome idea the magnet
Just be careful if you flip in deep water. I have the same kayak as you I love it, but if you capsize that boat is sinking.
What kayak?
