Good reel not sure about the rod as I’ve never had or even seen a dobyns

For what it’s worth my new Shimano setup is on a dobyns and it’s been great. My uncle who has been fishing for decades used it a lot this week and was very happy with it as well. I’m pretty sure he was going to go by the same setup this weekend lol. My only real concern is that my son was using that Shimano because he didn’t want to spend $200 on the DC and ended up being underwhelmed. There is no adjustment for brakes on that reel just a heads up. You will set the tension and throw. however it will also very rarely backlash. So if you are a beginner or giving it to a kid you’ll love it.

Looks like a good combo for a few things.

I would either up the reel to SLX XT A or go the opposite way and grab that $40 Maverick reel.
