Shimano poison adrena how to properly attach handle?

I’ve got a new rod and reel I’m setting up, the rod is a one piece with a handle that seems to just slide on. Is it meant to be glued or does it hold together with just pressure? Please help I’m trying to go fishing in a few hours!
