Caught my first trout yesterday, beginner at 40, would love some advice on what I did right / wrong

Hi everyone

I’m 40 and just started fishing for the first time. No mentor, no friends into fishing, just going out solo and trying to figure it out.

Yesterday, I caught my very first trout and I was just experimenting with what I thought might work. I decided to film what I have / think / do in the hopes of getting feedback.

I’d genuinely appreciate any advice on:

• Was I using the right kind of lure?
• Am I fishing he right way and reading water/conditions correctly?
• Is my gear suitable?

I’m not trying to show off. I’m here to learn. Any feedback from more experienced anglers would really mean a lot.
