I was using 65lb- line was as old as last fall, all though i switched it over in spring, I lost a 30-41" musky last week on it. Locked drag, popped off on the first run deep. (Wasnt my leader or lure, it broke at the knot) was using a a-rig with 50lb snaps/swivles
Has anyone used this? And have any opinions? I got 2, 900 or 1000 yard spools in 80-65lbs, i recently got some 832 braid too since it was recommended. Hercules braid is WAY cheaper, so if it was just a lemon, or i need to loosen my drag.. maybe ill continue running it.

Not sure. I usually just stick with the main brands that I know I won’t have issues with. Cheaper isn’t always better.
I use it on all my reels for sea fishing – boat, beach and spin in the UK.
I run heavier 50lb on the big reels, down to 20lb on the spinning/bait caster.
Never had an issue.
Caught stacks of bass spinning and big Tope and congers on the other rods to 50lb+
Thought the same as you – was a j-braid x8 fan but to spoil up the big beach casters / boat reels it was getting really expensive – so tried the cheep stuff and it’s been spot on.
Can’t beat it for the price imo
Edit – also haven’t replaced it in years and it takes a bashing in the salt – never had a line failure.
Been using it for years for salmon/steelhead 30lb and 50lb. Price point is great, I’d guess it was your knot.
What knot are you using? Braid is slick so you have to pick the right one. I don’t use Trilene/Improved clinch with braid
Can’t speak on the high lb but it’s one of the only braids I can find in 4lb and I use it in my ultralights. No issues so far and have used 3 spools.
