Im going on a fishing trip this weekend and i want to buy a new baitcaster up to this point i have only used spinning reels. my local fishing store only has 3 in my price range
- Daiwa Fuego CT 100XSL Baitcasting Reel $120
- Shimano SLX 71 A Baitcasting Reel $175
- Shimano SLX XT Baitcasting Reel $130
i want to try to fish for peacock bass

I have 3 tatulas of different grades and 3 SLX and many other brands. I like the SLX over all of them. Price & value
Depends on how you wanna fish and what you wanna throw. All those reels will pull in a peacock no problem (assuming we’re talking about smaller butterfly peacocks), but the 70 sized shimanos will throw lighter lures better.
Shimano SLX 71. Been fishing baitcaster 30/yrs. Quit Garcia’s cheep build. Run with Daiwa and Shimano these days
Out of that list? SLX XT hands down
