I received this travel fishing kit for Christmas and I’m finally able to put it to use. I’m going away this weekend for vacation. Has anyone ever flown before with fishing gear? Would I be able just to take this on as a carry-on?

You can fly with all of your gear on carry-on as long as it is secure. I did a trip to Europe with two travel rods, two reels, extra spools of line, and lures and terminal tackle in two waterproof plano boxes all in my carry-on. As long as there isn’t any large hooks and everything is covered and secure, it isn’t a problem. Mine never got flagged by security in Switzerland, Germany, or Serbia. I have done many trips all over the US also with no issues. TSA has regulations for sporting equipment, and it says as long as hooks and such are packed securely.
