After 6 years of trying. Countless youtube videos, going out with friends and only catching crappie or drum while they reel in bass, and way too much money on lures/plastics I FINALLY hooked my first large mouth in public water. It's not a monster by any means, but I'll still remember it forever.
I had about 30 minutes of daylight left. Nothing else in my bag of tricks was getting a bite so I said screw it and texas rigged a grey bass pro super fluke on a 4/0 hook (can't remember the brand).
