I’m somewhat of a novice and just received my Spinfisher vii 3500. I ordered it on Amazon and the pictures showed an oval handle. The one I got has a paddle handle. After looking at more photos online, I see both handles are pictured on different sites. I just want to make sure I got what I was supposed to.

The Penn website shows the flat handle for the 3500. The oval handle doesn’t appear to start until the 5500 size. They’d be the people to ask, though
My 3500 has the same handle yours does. I think that style grip very comfortable for thumb and index.
Same handle on mine.
