What hook sizes and styles do you swear by? (Read description for more discussion context)

I’ve since swapped out all my treble hooks on my spoons for those short eyelet J hooks on the left compartment.

For my tied floats and rigs I use only snelling J hooks.

Sometimes I order them but usually I just buy sabiki rigs for the hooks and cut off the line and retie them for my own set ups.

My big question is…. WHAT FUCKING SIZE SHOULD WE USE FOR TROUT?!?!

I’m always swapping between sizes 8/10/12, I rarely use that 6 (might actually be a #4 I forget)
I do have an easier time catching trout with those smaller 10/12 hooks but I get so many dumb bluegills too.

Gets old.
