I had my best day of fishing so far. Went out early cause I couldn't sleep and then got rained on right around sunrise. I hit up a spot where I caught my first ever red fish and was hoping for some luck. Was working a deeper spot outside the canal that I've tried before and I guess I finally figured out how to use crank bait cause they were hitting it.
Caught all three of these keepers in an hour, plus threw back a red fish and speckled trout. 22 inch red fish, 22 inch speckled trout, and that big 25/26 inch red. Never knew a fishing rod could bend that far when I was trying to get him up into the kayak. This is the first time ever I had to quit fishing because I was out of room in the cooler. Gonna take my brother out here this weekend and hoping he can get the same experience.
