Tried using a anchor—it works, but there are issues:
1 Hard to use in deep water
2 Gets stuck on the bottom
3 Just a hassle to deal with.
Not sure how well it’ll work in practice…
Gonna test it after the typhoon passes.

It’s not a terrible DIY solution, but I think a clamp would be more universal. Snatch a clamp off an old pair of jumper cables. It’ll hold tight to just about anything. Branches, brush, grass, cane.
