I was looking for a rod that can handle a 200 lb line.
This it’s the reel that im gonna use, it’s a penn 80 wide with capacity for 200 lb line.
The only rod that i could find it’s a phenix black diamond hybrid conventional of 7 ft.
So, my question it’s, is 7 ft good for shark fishing from the surf?

I use the penn pursuit IV. It’s a killer combo. 10’ pole helps with casting from the shore if you don’t have a yak to go drop the bait far out. I’ve caught some decent sized sharks with it. And the added bonus is you can get the combo for around $100
