Fished a ton growing up in the Midwest and had a lot of success with rooster tails, powerbait worms, and crank baits (large mouth and crappie).
Haven’t fished a lot for the last 9ish years and am going to the lake this weekend. Anything I am missing that you think is a must have? Haven’t had success with spinners in the past. Also have never used poppers or top water fished much but the videos are satisfying so I said screw it.
I’ll be fishing off a dock mainly for large mouth. Appreciate the suggestions!

Throw in some Carolina rig stuff. Beads, sliding sinkers, you can use the same hooks and gulp with that. Maybe a jerkbait. Good luck!
Just a suggestion, but I prefer the offset worm hooks without the weight. You also may want to put new and more line on that reel. Will help you cast farther.
