Pike with strange swelling around eyes – any idea what this could be?

Hi everyone,

Caught this pike today (📍Syväri, Finland) and noticed something I’ve never seen before – it has large, pouch-like swellings around both eyes (see photo). The fish seemed otherwise normal, but the eye area looks really unusual.

Any idea what could cause this?
Possibilities I’ve considered:
• Old injury or scar tissue?
• Some kind of infection or parasite?
• Could it be a tumor or growth?
• Or maybe just an age-related change?

Have any of you come across something like this before? I’d appreciate any insights or similar experiences!
