I was given this by a client. I was doing work around their dock and found it in the tall weeds. The wheel that loosens the spool (brake? Sorry new to baitcasters this is my first haha) is seized. I can cast bit get backlashes every few casts. Is it worth trying to get back to life? If so how should I approach?

For sure bro if not I would gladly take it and bring it back to life, I’ve actually been looking for one close to this style because my uncle who pretty much though me how to fish had one very similar I style and it was to first bait caster I used, wasn’t the absolute best and could definitely have used a oiling but most reliable bait caster that never nested on me, that said it’s definitely worth cracking open and seeing how bad the wether damage is and possibly looking for new parts, saw a decent one recently on marketplace near me that someone was selling for parts for $5 definitely a cool vintage rod🤝🏽
