I’ve fly fished my whole life and while I’ll still continue and mostly go after strippers. My Gf will primarily use the rod while I use my Fly gear. She caught a bunch on a cheap abu Garcia set up but the reel quickly failed even when washing it every time out.
Looking for:
Ability to throw swim baits/soft plastics. Savage sandeels and some top waters.
A reel that will last and the setup will
Need to be able to target fish 24-30” with the odd giant which I would like it to at least give us a shot.
Sorry for the disorganized post, but investing in a decent rod in fly fishing takes experience so I figured I would be best asking the Reddit experts.
