Hello everyone my girlfriend and I are starting our fishing adventures and I would like your guys advice on this fishing rod I’m looking to purchase for fishing Trout in the Sierra Nevada mountains and bass in the valley of the 209.

Yes that would be ideal for trout, though I think 30lb line is too much. I would use 10-12lb line on the reel. Maybe get a few more lures specifically for the fish you hope to catch.
I have bought a couple of these plusino telescoping poles for the BWCA. I personally like them a lot for light action. Also super easy to hike and transport
I honestly love my plusinno. The rods great for the money. I have a better reel on mine. I’m an avid fisherman. So this is my car rod but for a beginner I’m sure even with the reel it comes with it’d be great.
