I live in Gloucester MA with a 12 foot v-hull, and I’m hoping to give fishing a shot on a budget. Would be grateful for tips.

This would be on the Annisquam River. Besides the boat (and motor etc), and some online tutorials, what specific things can I buy to try fishing for the first time? I'm talking specific rods on Amazon or Walmart, etc, and any other absolutely necessary equipment. I will hopefully then buy lots more stuff and more expensive stuff when I get into it, but for now is there a way to just give it a try on a super tight budget? $50? I hear there are bass all over the place up here.
