I figured out a way to mount a rod holder on my ocean kayak so I can troll a lure while I'm doing conditioning paddles. It's only 22.5" wide so you have to be a little careful/have everything attached but I can really cover alot of water.
Caught a mackerel and a kelp bass so far; I've only had the rod on twice but I see lots of videos of people trolling this area in fishing kayaks and catching all kinds of things.
