Usually it’s a slight twist and slide to remove the side plate. Go on YouTube and look up your specific baitcaster model. More than likely there are vids that will show someone breaking down the reel to service it.

That is the lock for the side plate. Push it to open and that covering to the right of the switch should slid off somehow.
Slide the switch forward. That is a locking mechanism. Then you can pop the side plate off for access to the spool.
