If you fish for food great opinion for trout fishing it off the bottom they’ll swallow it and hook deep but if you strictly catch and release don’t use it or live bait for the same reason

I like it for mid day when the bite is slow and they aren’t hitting spinning lures.

If you like more active fishing its not a good choice, if you are a sit down, have a beer and toss your line and wait type of guy then its great for trout. They make a crappie version too in nugget form which has worked great for me.

Powerbait is a cheat code for trout. Only use it when you plan on keeping trout. There really isn’t a practical way to ensure you won’t gut hook them.
