I'm just looking for some advice on two issues I currently have with my pole and reel which I'll list below.
-
The rod tip/eyelet snapped off maybe two weeks ago on my St Croix 7ft medium power rod. I've still be using it to fish as is and have been catching fish but I am wondering if I should just cut the extra portion of the remaining tip off or not. I tried to add a replacement tip but it ended up being too big and eventually fell off. What would you all do to fix this?

I went kayak fishing for the first time last weekend and overall it went very well but I ended up dropping my rod in the water at one point for only a couple of seconds but now the reel doesn't reel as smoothly as before. I'm relatively new to fishing in general and I don't really have any experience taking apart reels so I don't really know what could be causing the issue.

If you dropped it in fresh water just give it some oil
Is it 2 piece? Reach out to St Croix and see if they’ll replace. If not it’s ultimately best to replace the rod
If it’s freshwater prolly like other dude said jus lube her up but what do you mean doesn’t feel as smooth cause I be dipping my shit in the water if it’s sandy lol hoping I’m not just used to bad reels now
St croixs warranty is great. Just got to pay 60$ shipping and processing fee and theyll send u a brand new one.
I wade fish a lot and my reels get dunked whenever I take a fish off the line. Reels been going strong for years, but the rods get beat up on the hikes
