How would you fish this?

  1. Probably focus on drop offs in the heat. Left side of the top of the lake goes deep to 30 feet, and bottom has a point that goes right down to 20 feet. If it’s cooler I would probably look for for weed lines in the shallower areas.

    Edit: Meters/feet blah

  2. I’m also gonna assume that those numbers are in meters and not measured by eagles per donut

I catfish, so I would find a bed of bluegill (the catfish’ prey) somewhere near drop-offs and when the catfish go hunting for their own dinner I’ll catch them.

No matter what you’re targeting, follow the food chain and any changes in water temp and oxygenation. And obviously any structure. A body of water like that one with a lot of different depths can be a lot of fun once you located the baitfish. A lot of baitfish also means you’ve found water with plenty of oxygen in it, and reasonable temps.

Hot days I like to find those baitfish, catch one, cut it into cut bait and drop in the deep water near those baitfish. Very very hot days I’m guessing at where the thermocline is and making sure I’m on the right side of it. (Don’t fish the bottom in deep water in the late summer unless it’s been a mild one.)
