Is this spinner supposed to be crooked? How do I keep it underwater when retrieving? Do I need to use a swivel? Do I need a leader?

Shouldn’t be crooked. You could take your forceps and bend it so it’s back straight. When retrieving, the blade will spin and naturally pull it under the water. You can use a swivel if you prefer, I usually just tie it straight to the line. No leader needed.

I don’t think it should be crooked based on every other online spinner I’ve ever seen. Leader isn’t necessary but a swivel can be useful for keeping our line twist where you’re likely to catch weeds.

Mine jump out of the water sometimes if I’m reeling too fast. But definitely straighten that out.

  4. Straighten it out. Let it sink a bit and slow your retrieve to keep it down in the water column.

No, it’s bent and needs to be straight. Slow down your retrieve and lower the rod tip. You at least need a swivel. The need for a leader would depend on the types of toothy fish you may get into.

  6. People are saying no leader needed, but i would highly recommend a strong snap swivel or a barrel swivel and short leader to prevent line spin.

Especially if you’re going to be doing a lot of casting or use mono or flouro line. It will be fine until your line explodes into a sudden birdsnest.

Because of how the bubble packaging is designed on mepps and stuff it’s VERY common to bend the lure when you’re prying it out of the box.
