I’m fishing in my normal spot for 10 years in Bethany beach Del. Just off the Salt pond golf course. Normally I get 4-6 large mouth in my morning fishing. Today nothing so I’m a beginner again.

Using eagle claw 1/0 hooks with gulp swimming mullet 4in. Set as Texas rig. I normally pull lots of weeds and grass so I try to keep the hook weedless. I’m throwing to the dead fall from a canoe trying to find the lurking bass. I’m getting nothing. So I switched to nightcrawlers and a bobber, still nothing and I was bored.

Posted some pictures any advice would be great. I’m wondering if it was over fished or the golf course run off is causing problems. Normally I see jumping and splashing while I’m out but only 1 jump today, so there is a fish, maybe just one in the pond.

I’m 4 beers in and nothing is biting.

  1. I do my best in the evening at dusk. With a plopper, you can try the ozark, yellow and green or the black for cloudy rainy days and at night. It works for me. I’ve caught my 2 personal best, and I caught a nice one on a wacky worm, green pumpkin. The only thing I wouldn’t get in Ozark, is whopper ploppers, because they don’t spin as good in the back as river2sea lures. But with everything else ozark, doesn’t get enough credit. With these top waters, you’ll get less hits, but they will be a bigger, better fish when they hit that top water.
