Goodbye to the Old Town Predator 13, hello Ocean Kayak Trident 15 (Very heavy guy 352lbs)

After one last outing on the Old Town Predator 13, I confirmed it had to go. Doesnt work for me. Its now listed for sale, and this yellow long boy is sitting by it in the garage. Its an ooold model, more than 10 years old. But its pretty well kept, and it works.

And boy does it work. This thing is fast, very fast. Its fast with my fat ass on it. It moves good!! Quite a dry ride (almost no water coming through the scuppers), very decently stable, fast as hell, easy to keep going, goes where you want with the rudder. It will do many miles with me on it.

I discovered I can surf the waves that boats leave when passing me, I can match their speed and use them to help me keep going. Super cool. The long yellow banana is a keeper.

Now to practice self rescue until I'm confident I can hop back to it…then time to head out of the bay.

Worst part: This thing turns heads. People WILL look at your fat ass while rolling the longboy banana to the water, they will come asking questions, they will look at you going as fast as sailing boats, or cruising motorboats, they will look at you when youre stopped and fishing. The longboy banana turns many heads. Or the fat guy sitting on it. Not sure.

TL:DR: I bought an old yellow plastic fishing surfski. It can carry my fat ass. Unlike the previous kayak. This is good.
