Is there a way to fix the padding on my stick or should I look at getting a new one? I’m not an avid fisherman, just do it for fun with my kids. Something must have chewed on it in the shed. It’s a tsunami trophy series if that helps.

Could maybe get some filler and just file it down

Option 1, do nothing. It’s cosmetic and doesn’t affect anything. From there you’d need to fill it with something and cover it or remove all the foam and slip on a piece of shrink tube. Depends on whether that part of the rod is important for comfort of use.
You could strip it all off and then use heat shrink handle wrap. For extra grip, you could wrap a piece of string around the rod before shrink wrapping, usually looks nicer than foam. You can also order cork tape, and strip and wrap it with cork Tape.
I would use textured shrink wrap cover the grip.
