This lake I’ve loved for years has a healthy population of brookies, rainbows and coastal cuts. Coastals and bows stocked yearly, but they do well in there. This is southwest Washington. Spring fed and creek fed lake, and I’ve never caught a “west slope” looking trout out of here before. This year, I’ve caught several. I know that cuttys need running water to spawn, but the two creeks that feed this lake (only one even worth mentioning) are so tiny. Even the bigger one is barely there by September. They have not stocked anything else, so are these wild? I know there’s many variants of west slope cuts, but what are these exactly, are they wild, how are they here? Are these cutbows from the coastal population? How did they spawn? Any wisdom would be appreciated, I’m just curious. Certainly not complaining I love to catch them.
