Got these in a mystery tackle box. Personally, I found they don’t have much action at all in the water, and also seem to be way too tough to be used on a Texas rig style setup – I tried using them on a 4/0 belly weight EWG with a screw lock, and had no bites and was very much not confident it would get any, let alone compress enough to set the hook if something took it. Maybe it would work better on a jig head? What are your opinions on this bait (or other Berkeley soft plastics)?

  1. I’ve always heard to match the color with the light conditions. So bright colored baits on sunny days, dark colors on dark days or dawn/dusk. Give it a try on a dark day. But yeah, those really don’t have much action and I wouldn’t waste too much time on them.

  2. i dont like them but they arent terrible. chuck one on a smaller jig head. should improve action and ur worries abt the hookup

The powerbaits have always been tougher and I have always liked a softer bait. Feels more natural and easier for hooksets.
