I set out to fish in the river with this setup tonight. I got a few nibbles but no hits. I was hoping for smallmouth, but I’m new to swim baits. I fished this down stream and reeled upstream, I tried it across stream and reeled sideways. I did fast and slow retrieves. I fished between 6-8pm and aimed for structures. Am I just fishing at a bad time or am I missing something with my setup or strategy?
