According to Google it's called "streaked gurnard" in English. Here they call it "Rubio" (blonde fish ha)
It's the 2nd of this kind I ever fish, and it's said to be delicious (the first time I returned it).
Caught it doing some trolling while exiting the bay into deeper waters. A police boat came and informed me it's not allowed anymore to fish from a kayak here. Kayaks in Spain are considered "floating artifacts" not real boats. They said they also find it stupid but its the rules, took my info and I may get fined, it didn't really depend on them but on the port authority.
That did spoil what was being an amazing day…I went back and did some research, it seems you can register the kayak as a boat, pay taxes, pay an insurance, carry mandatory boat safety equipment like radio, flares, radar reflector… Then I would be legally allowed to fish from the kayak. Ugh.
This is not widely available or easy to find info since it's only in a couple provinces in whole Spain. Let's say it'd be a state-specific rule. So I hadnt found it when I researched what was needed for kayak fishing here.
Hope I can fix it soon, I may even have to find another kayak with a specific homologation plate, most people use french homologation 240-241, my Predator 13 has the plate for example, but not the yellow Trident 15. It's being a path full of stones, to say the least.
