My Dad recently gave me a tackle box full of stuff passed down from his Dad recently. I am new to fishing and have never seen one of these before anywhere, and they feel really cool in the water so I want to use them more and know where and what to target with these.

Old flatfish: My grandmother had every model made up until about 1980. They were originally made from balsa. I still have a few.

We mostly used them slow trolling for trout.

These are used to troll for trout. We’d run a line of flashers (willow leaf) then a leader, then one of these that would dive and wiggle like a fish trying to catch up. They’re very effective.
