I'm not used to big reservoirs like this but I heard it contains nice fish (especially trout) where should I throw and should I let my lure (which should I choose?) sink or reel right away?

I had tried to get hold of a depth map. Maybe the ones that sell fishing licenses or social maps https://www.genesismaps.com/socialmap. Otherwise I would have tested on capes.

Can you get a depth map? If so i’d try spinners & light lures along the margins where the depth drops.
Another good spot would be bays and inlets of little rivers & streams, as trout will congregate where there’s easy pickings for food.
Also, wind is important: it’ll move surface food towards one end and trout will follow.
