I have 2 spinning combos and one baitcaster, all spooled by myself.. no problems with any of them. I just got a new combo from kastking and spooled it up (maybe a little underspooled if anything). Went out and within 2 casts I got a tug (like a backlash) and had 3 tag ends sticking out of my reel. I started unspooling the line and eventually pulled off about 20 yards of braid and left with this (pic above). There is a lip between the purple and black but leaving as is seems underspooled.
Did I do something wrong when originally spooling or is this the natural line seat for this reel and the lip cut off my overspool?

I can’t be positive but to me it looks like it’s now spoiled where it’s supposed to be.
With the difference in heights of those parts of the reel I can’t imagine you’d spool it more than it’s at now.
